This is a haptic Bar Slider, sometimes called a magnetic slider.
This particular variation is made from solid brass with 8 neodymium magnets (4 on each side) and has a textured finish on the outside for added grip. This is finished with a natural 'bright' finish so will patina over time and with use.
It measures 48mm x 10mm and 9mm thick. It weighs roughly 35g.
This was made with my son in mind who has ADHD and is great for him to carry in his pocket to fiddle with. It helps distract him in situations that make him anxious. The larger sliders are too strong for him to use effectively.
